70+ Years of Flavor

From One Location
to a National Legend

It all started in 1952 across the street from the Alamo in San Antonio, Texas. George W. Church Sr. had a vision — serve the crispiest, most flavorful fried chicken at a price every family could afford. With a small fryer, a whole lot of heart, and a secret blend of spices, he opened the very first Church's Chicken.

"We don't just fry chicken — we craft an experience. Every piece is a reminder that great food doesn't have to be complicated, just done right."

Word spread fast. Families lined up for that signature crunch, that golden skin, that juicy bite. By the 1970s, Church's had grown into one of the most recognized names in American fast food. Today, with locations across the United States and beyond, we continue to honor that original recipe while boldly innovating for the next generation of chicken lovers.

San Antonio is our home, and Texas is in our DNA. Every piece of chicken we serve carries the legacy of a man who believed that bold, honest food could bring people together — and we're still proving him right every single day.
